From the 1670 edition of John Ogilby’s America, the image is based on the work of Arnoldus Montanus. The publication offered the most complete cartographic record to date of North and South America and was the most accurate compendium available of the New World. The original print shows native animals with human faces in the Brazilian mountains. The print, in black / white; is rated Very Good with only slight light foxing, not affecting the image.
