From the 1670 edition of John Ogilby’s America, the image is based on the work of Arnoldus Montanus. The publication offered the most complete cartographic records to date of North and South America and was the most accurate compendium available of the New World. The original print from that publication shows Brazilian natives dancing. The print, in black / white; is rated Very Good [see our rating criteria on the Home Page] with only slight light foxing, not affecting the image. Dutch text on the verso. The print measures approximately (8.1″ x 11.9″) accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
