In 1670 John Ogilby published his America, based on the work published by Arnoldus Montanus. This publication offered the most complete cartographic record to date of both North and South America. The publication was the most accurate compendium available of the New World. This original print from that publication depicts Spanish explorers at counsel with a group of natives honoring them with a crown of feathers. The print in black / white is rated Very Good [see our rating criteria on the Home Page] with only slight light foxing, not affecting the image. Dutch text on the verso. The print measures approximately (81.’ X 11.9″) accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
